Transportation is the movement of persons or things from one place to another. So the transfer of thoughts or ideas is communication. Resources are not distributed equally everywhere so they are transported to places where resources are scarce. Raw materials for processing in factories and finished goods for distribution to markets are transported by means of transport.

Humans have been transporting or trading goods with the help of means of communication since ancient times. In the early days, humans used to carry loads themselves as a means of transport for a long time, in fact even today in some developing and underdeveloped countries such transport is done through some humans. Transportation evolved from the earliest burden-bearing humans to animals and then from handcarts to modern vehicles.
